The Great Book of History for Humanity talks of a period in time when Ethiopian warrior Queens ruled the land bringing the African way of life back To Egypt.
In the centuries just prior to the Christian era; 800 BC to 300 AD, existed a remarkable line of Ethiopian Queens, known as "Kentake's"; meaning 'Great-Mother'. They were independent rulers of their lands noted for fighting against foreign invaders; like Kentake Amanirenas who defended her land against the Romans.

The linage for the Cushite Pharaoh's of the 25th Dynasty comes through the Kentakes of the Meroitic period; as they also chose who the future Prince would be. Kentake's exercised a level of authority and a degree of political power rarely enjoyed by her contemporaries in Egypt. Their authority and influence had become so pervasive that they were able to assume rulership independently, which is what gave rise to a line of rulers known as "Candaces".

Never afraid to do battle, Kentake's were fierce fighters. When called to duty, the priests would have a custom prayer girdle strung for blessing by the Cushite Royal Jewelers. A special talisman charm was endowed with an invocation for protection and victory. The talisman would
increase the Queen’s good luck, give her courage, strength and increase her skills in diplomacy. It was also a subtle reminder to lead with grace and always maintain your femininity, even when in very masculine worlds. Upon bedtime, the Kentake would recite her affirmation prayers along each bead to ensure the blessing of the Gods for mornings battle.

Kentake Prayer Beads is a one strand style made with Crystal glass beads in earth tone shades of olive green, copper and gold. I had an authentic Ethiopian talisman; from my travels to Ethiopia, custom made into a charm for me. This centerpiece is only available at Waist Beads by Sewra.

* The gold toned talisman is a lead free, base metal pewter charm. It will not turn green, but gold tone will fade after repeated washings.

*
You may occasionally wear while bathing. This style is NOT recommended to wear on a regular basis while washing because of metal components.

*All waist beads are made with a gold tone or silver tone base metal clasp.

*You have the option to upgrade to a Sterling Silver clasp or 14K Gold Clasp.

5 of 5 Beautiful March 6, 2016
Reviewer: Camellia Lee from Providence, RI United States
I so appreciate the professionalism, beauty and care. I feel so safe in mine. The little gold piece at the end of the lobster clasp fell off into the toilet, but other than that it was great. Thank you, because they are beautiful and bring me so much joy and self-love.
